Sucharita is a dedicated development professional with a strong passion for working with marginalized communities, particularly children, adolescents, and women. With an impressive 18-year career in the development sector, she has focused on public health issues for the past decade. Throughout her journey, she has contributed her expertise to various renowned organizations, including Catholic Relief Services (CRS), Action Aid, FADV – India, and, prior to her current role at Smile Train, she served as Senior Specialist – Programs and Trainings at Ipas Development Foundation. During her tenure there, she successfully managed several projects centered on Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights (SRHR), with a special emphasis on safe abortion and family planning.
Sucharita holds a postgraduate degree in Social Work from Visva-Bharati University, West Bengal. In her new role at Smile Train, her primary mission is to extend the outreach of the cleft program into the eastern and northeastern regions of India, reinforcing her dedication to enhancing the well-being of those requiring assistance.
